Submission Guidelines

What GymEquipMap accepts as equipment facts, what it does not accept, and how submissions are reviewed.

Last updated: 2026-05-21

Purpose of submissions

  • Submissions help GymEquipMap maintain equipment and access facts. They are not for reviews or ratings.

Accepted information

  • Rack availability/count, maximum dumbbell weight, Smith machines, cable machines, platforms, showers, lockers, and opening hours.
  • Visitor/drop-in access, prices, deadlift rules, chalk rules, and facts confirmed from official websites or the gym itself.

Not accepted

  • Star ratings, recommendations, subjective reviews, service evaluations, atmosphere evaluations, comments about other users, or copied reviews are not accepted.
  • Do not submit personal information, speculation, defamation, ads, promotions, competitor steering, spam, or subjective evaluations of gyms or staff.

Submit only confirmed facts

  • Submit only what you saw, used, or confirmed through official pages or the gym itself.
  • If your memory is uncertain, the information may be old, or the source is unclear, explain that in the note field.

Unknown items

  • Leave unknown items as unknown. Do not guess or mark something as zero, unavailable, or prohibited unless confirmed.
  • Unknown items are not automatically reflected as public equipment facts.

Prices and access conditions

  • Visitor prices, drop-in conditions, registration requirements, and payment methods change often. Add the confirmation timing when possible.

Rules such as deadlifts and chalk

  • Deadlift, dropping, chalk, photography, and busy-hour rules vary by gym. It helps to include how you confirmed the rule, such as signage or staff confirmation.

Do not include personal information

  • Do not submit staff names, user names, contact details, membership information, or information that can identify people in photos or descriptions.

Do not evaluate gyms, staff, or users

  • GymEquipMap is an equipment database. It does not handle subjective evaluations of service, atmosphere, user behavior, or crowding complaints.

Review and reflection

  • Submissions are reviewed by administrators before publication. Accepted submissions may be edited, summarized, or categorized before being reflected.

When submissions are not reflected

  • Submissions may not be reflected if they cannot be verified, are subjective, include personal information, appear harmful, or conflict with existing information.

Correction requests from gym operators

  • Official corrections, removal consultations, and verification requests from gym operators should be submitted through the business inquiry form.

Contact

  • Questions about submissions should be sent through the general contact form.
