Submission Guidelines

What GymEquipMap accepts as equipment facts, what it does not accept, and how submissions are reviewed.

01Purpose of submissions

Submissions help GymEquipMap maintain equipment and access facts. They are not for reviews or ratings.
Submissions are factual equipment/access reports that help fill details official pages may not publish.
Submit only what you know. Do not submit ratings, rankings, recommendations, or subjective impressions.

02Examples of useful reports

Useful reports include: I saw a power rack; I saw a Smith machine; dumbbells went up to 50 kg; I used a day pass; showers were available.
Access and rule facts are also useful, such as: a posted rule said chalk was not allowed, dropping was prohibited, or access was limited to a first-visit trial.

03Accepted information

Rack availability/count, maximum dumbbell weight, Smith machines, cable machines, platforms, showers, lockers, and opening hours.
Visitor/drop-in access, prices, deadlift rules, chalk rules, and facts confirmed from official websites or the gym itself.

04Not accepted

Star ratings, recommendations, subjective reviews, service evaluations, atmosphere evaluations, comments about other users, or copied reviews are not accepted.
Do not submit personal information, speculation, defamation, ads, promotions, competitor steering, spam, or subjective evaluations of gyms or staff.

05Submit only confirmed facts

Submit only what you saw, used, or confirmed through official pages or the gym itself.
If your memory is uncertain, the information may be old, or the source is unclear, explain that in the note field.
Prices, rules, and hours can change; include visit timing or access conditions where relevant.

06Unknown items

Leave unknown items as unknown. Do not guess or mark something as zero, unavailable, or prohibited unless confirmed.
Unknown items are not automatically reflected as public equipment facts.

07Prices and access conditions

Visitor prices, drop-in conditions, registration requirements, and payment methods change often. Add the confirmation timing when possible.

08Rules such as deadlifts and chalk

Deadlift, dropping, chalk, photography, and busy-hour rules vary by gym. It helps to include how you confirmed the rule, such as signage or staff confirmation.

09Do not include personal information

Do not submit staff names, user names, contact details, membership information, or information that can identify people in photos or descriptions.

10Do not evaluate gyms, staff, or users

GymEquipMap is an equipment database. It does not handle subjective evaluations of service, atmosphere, user behavior, or crowding complaints.

11Review and reflection

Submissions are reviewed by administrators before publication. Accepted submissions may be edited, summarized, or categorized before being reflected.
Submissions may be accepted, held, or rejected after administrator review. A single report is handled cautiously, while repeated matching reports or operator review may support confirmed information.

12When submissions are not reflected

Submissions may not be reflected if they cannot be verified, are subjective, include personal information, appear harmful, or conflict with existing information.
Reports based on Google Maps, Yelp, reviews, star ratings, or photo-only guessing may not be accepted.

13Correction requests from gym operators

Official corrections, removal consultations, and verification requests from gym operators should be submitted through the business inquiry form.

14Contact

Questions about submissions should be sent through the general contact form.
