Explains how GymEquipMap collects, verifies, classifies, and corrects gym equipment listing data.

Introduction

GymEquipMap is a facts-first database for gym equipment information, not a review, rating, or ranking service.
GymEquipMap is an official-first, community-verified gym equipment database.
We prioritize official sources, but equipment details that are not published officially may be supplemented through structured user reports, gym/operator confirmations, and administrator review.
This policy explains how listing data is sourced, verified, classified, handled when unknown, assisted by AI, and corrected.

We prioritize official websites, official gym pages, pricing pages, official PDFs, official FAQs, and official social accounts.
We may also use public information from local governments or designated facility operators, information provided by authorized gym or company representatives, factual information verified in person by users, and operator research based on official information.
User submissions are treated as factual equipment and access reports, not reviews or opinions.
A single user report may be treated cautiously as reported or low confidence. Repeated independent reports or administrator review may be treated as user_confirmed.
Authorized gym/operator confirmation may be treated as official_confirmed after authority is reasonably verified.

We do not use Google Maps reviews, Google Maps photos, or Google Maps star ratings as sources for equipment information.
We do not use Yelp reviews, review sites, ranking sites, personal blogs, unofficial social media posts, unofficial YouTube or video content, aggregation sites, subjective opinions, or reputation as sources for equipment information.
We do not count equipment from photos alone.
We may link to Google Maps or similar services, but we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, or terms of use.

GymEquipMap does not score, rank, review, or recommend gyms based on subjective opinions.
We organize equipment facts, access conditions, and verification status so users can find gyms that match their training requirements.

GymEquipMap may list availability and counts of power racks, half racks, combo racks, squat stands, and Smith machines, as well as maximum dumbbell weight.
We may list visitor access, drop-in access, day pass availability, deadlift, dropping, and chalk rules.
We may list showers, lockers, opening hours, 24-hour access scope, English support, official website URLs, source type, confidence level, and last updated date.
Unknown items are not filled in by assumption.

If information cannot be verified, we do not label it as zero, unavailable, or not allowed by assumption.
Unknown information is generally displayed as “—” or treated as unknown.
We do not infer equipment counts from photos or general chain tendencies.
Equipment, pricing, and rules may change, so users should always verify with the gym's official information before visiting.

official_site means information based on official websites, official gym pages, pricing pages, official FAQs, official PDFs, official social account text, local government pages, or designated operator pages.
official_confirmed means information provided or confirmed by authorized gym or company representatives after authority is reasonably verified.
user_confirmed means factual information verified in person by users and adopted by the operator. It may be adopted after repeated matching reports or administrator review.
ai_extracted means draft information extracted or organized with AI assistance. It is generally reviewed by a human before being reflected.
unknown means information with insufficient source or verification status. Labels may be adjusted to match existing implementation language.
source_type describes the source behind the data, not gym quality.

high means information verified through official pages, gym/operator confirmation, or other clear evidence.
medium means information based on official sources or multiple confirmation signals, but with some unknown details such as counts or pricing.
low means information based on thin official sources or a single user report, where further confirmation is recommended.
Confidence is not a gym quality score. It is a verification level for the information.

“Officially confirmed” is used only when information is provided or confirmed by a gym or operating company representative whose authority has been reasonably verified, such as through an official domain email address.
Even officially confirmed information may change over time.

GymEquipMap may use AI to extract and organize factual equipment information from official public sources.
AI-assisted extraction is treated as draft data and is reviewed by a human before publication or updates where reasonably possible.
We do not copy official page text verbatim. We organize facts such as addresses, prices, availability, and equipment counts.
AI extraction may contain errors, so users should always verify with official information before visiting.

If listing information is incorrect, users may contact us through the contact form, and gym-related parties may contact us through the business inquiry form.
Reports from gym-related parties about factually incorrect information are prioritized for review.
Where appropriate, we may correct, hide, suspend, or change the verification status of listings.
However, we do not guarantee that every requested display change will be accepted.

When we receive information or correction requests from gym-related parties, we may verify the sender's identity and authority through official email domains, official website information, or other reasonable methods.
Requests from competitors, unrelated third parties, or parties whose authority cannot be verified may be held or rejected.

This policy may be updated as the service, laws, or operational policies change.
